Uncle Brent

I spoke to mom today for a little while and she told me that Uncle Brent is not doing very well. He was happy to see mom and dad come into his room last night, but after awhile he was not very aware that they were there. He is being moved to a local hospice where he can be comfortable. They have or will later today remove his IV, so he should only be there for a few days. Brent has a burial plot in Ogden near grandpa and grandma Wards, and when the time comes he will buried there.

Kelly and Grandma are flying from Ogden to AZ to be with Brent. Kathy is on her way there from CA, so they all will be there together.

Keep Grandma and Dad, Mom, Kelly and Kathy in your prayers, they are having a hard time losing a brother and friend.

Thanks for the update Mike. I would imagine that Uncle Brent will be doing one of the two things in the pictures you posted the minute he gets to heaven.

Thank you Michael for posting the update about Uncle Brent. When I walked into his room last night he gave me a great big smile. But, he didn't remember me for long. That was my goodbye from him. He deserves to be free from his body and I have no doubt about the plan of salvation and the fact that someday he will be resurrected. Until then, he'll enjoy having the ability to move and talk again. He has surely suffered alot--not physical pain but the loss of the use of his body. It is hard to lose someone you love and if it were up to us we would never let go so it is a good thing Someone else is in charge. Dad appreciates your love and concern for him and the love you have all given to his little brother. Love to all of you--Mom

Sending my love to everyone down in AZ. I agree-Brent has a great big smile. He had one of his big smiles last Christmas when he saw his birthday cake. Brent was blessed with a sister-in-law and brother who always made sure his birthdays were special. Love from WA.

Thanks to all of you for caring. Brent has been moved to a very nice place. We have no idea how much longer he will survive the struggles he's going through but he is receiving excellent care. We'll keep you all posted.
Love,
Dad

Brent ALWAYS has a smile. He is one of the most gentle people I have ever met. I was usually nervous around adults when I was a kid but that was never the case with Brent. (maybe because he was so short!) The last time I saw him in Odgen he gave me a huge smile and shook my hand.

I spoke to mom a little while ago, and she told me that Brent is slipping a way. He is mostly unconscious, with some stirrings but does not really wake up. He has not really had much to drink, he has just been able to eat a little ice over the last 2 days. He is resting comfortable and I think his siblings are doing well. When I talked to mom, Grandma and Monica had gone to the mall to exchange some shoes.

I will update this as I hear anything.

We just returned fromrent is in some hospice for the night. Brent seems to be in pain or some kind of stress. He responds to touching and calms down but doesn't really wake up. David has hardly left his side and is very tender and caring of his dad. That makes me feel good. I'm glad Brent is in AZ so that David J. can share his last moments. The people at the hospice are incredibly nice. Will keep you posted.
