Soccer Season

Soccer Season Ended on saturday for us. Both Katie and Chas have come a long ways this fall and we are really happy with their progression. They have worked really hard and have not missed a practice. Emma has been a saint going to many practices and games cheering her brother and sister on. She got to ride the golf cart this season because of her casts. She has been trying to sneak onto that cart for the last three years. That might have been the highlight of the season for her! I got a lucky picture of Chas winding up to nail a ball. Chas' first word was 'ball' and he hasn't thought of much else since. He lives for soccer and practices voluntarily an extra two days a week with another team because he likes to play so much.

Dan, you guys take really great pictures. Action shots are the hardest and look how great they turned out.

I agree with Lana - these are great pics.

Yeah soccer ... I have many happy memories of being on the side of the field while Nate and Jay played. The other parents used to encourage their kids to get a goal with promises of goodies or money if they scored. Nate was his team's top scorer and he asked me once what he could get in return. "Points" was my reply. I see Chaz and Katie play, like Nate and Jay did, for the love of the game :-)

Emma - you have the tough job being on the sidelines. Good work cheering for the sibs. I hope you feel all the way better soon. how much longer for the casts?

If you love what you're doing you'll never have a bad day the rest of your life (well almost never :-)). Keep up the good playing and cheering GA Wards!
Love you,
Gramps

Dan your lucky to have kids that will pose so well, they are great shots. I can remember many a game in a snow storm with MaKayla where I was hoping that the game would get over or have some sort of mercy rule....you know the type, where there is more parents in cars watching the game then there is parents on the field. Soccer is a great sport, I wish I could play it with a bunch of out of shape men like me.

Those shots are not posed. If I ever ask my kids to 'pose' for a picture there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth!

I wish I could have been there! That is one very hard thing about living so far away from each other ... but a nice thing about the blog to be able to share these moments.

I was kidding Dan, you would have had to have wires holding them in place. People who try to stand like that fall over.
