The other day I was e-mailing with a colleague and she told me that she was going to the Ukraine and she then invited me to go along. In late May I will be doing 5 days of OT work, 3 days of sight seeing, and 2 days of riding on planes, trains, and automobiles. It is a very exciting opportunity for me yet very nerve wracking at the same time as I hope that I have things to share in the Ukraine that will help improve the quality of health care available there.

It's almost always fun to go to a part of the world you have never been to before. I guess you will be the farthest away from everyone then. What will you do if you get the NC job?
I took a Russian course for the navy. It was a six week course. It would be kind of neat if you could find some online course before May. I love trying to speak the native tongue-even if it's only to greet/shop.
When I get a job in NC I'll just let them know that I have a prior commitment on those days. I think that the experience will be one that will make me a better OT for their facility which I hope will make up for the inconvenience of being gone for those days.
I ordered the Rosetta Stone software last night to learn Russian. I have always wondered if it really worked to learn a language so now I have the chance to try it out. I wish that I could learn Ukrainian and Russian but for simplicity I am going to stick with trying to pick up a little bit of Russian.
Моя сестра мало так интересно! Я надеюсь, что она имеет большое время на ее пути в Украину!
P.S. Good luck with the Russian language!
A world traveler ... what's next the universe? Wonder if you'll have English or a Sanish accent when you speak Russian? Good luck,
Dad
Kristy,
I think you need a gps beacon so we know where you are....you are a world traveler.
Sounds like fun! I can't wait to see the pictures!
I heard about a Ukrainian mine collapse on the way to work this morning. Hundreds of people dead or missing. Very sad. Please stay above ground when you're there.
