We can't find the original picture so the quality of this shot isn't that great but here is Janelle, DeOn, Debby, Lila and LaRee modeling their new "Grandma Larsen" pajamas. (1966)

My mother made these nightgowns without a pattern. She made her own pattern as she went along. She hand embroidered a blue feather stitch along the yoke, neck and cuffs. I think she made the nightgowns in 1966 which would have been her first Christmas without my Father. She had an old treadle Singer machine that had a motor attached to it. When I see this picture I think of all the love she sewed into each one. I still have Debby's and I keep thinking I'll put it on a keepsake doll. I love my Mother--I was so blessed to be her daughter.

LaRee, I didn't realize that you are taller than all your sisters. Or maybe you are just like your sons who all stand on their tip toes in family pictures trying to be the tallest?

Crystal ... did you know that this is a BIG competition with mom and her sisters? She and Janelle are always trying to be the tallest!

Well, DeOn and Lila aren't even in the competition. I keep telling every one that I have shrunk two inches and that picture is proof.

Mom,

Sometimes you just have to put up with your shorter siblings thinking they are taller then you are. We both know we are right, let them think that, it will make them feel good. We all know that dad was looking to thin out that short Harris gene, so he would not have married someone short.

This is so precious ...! Yeah Grandma's who make PJ's

You are a beautiful set of sisters no matter who is tallest.
