Here's are the States we visited or lived in. Here's the ledgen:
Yellow - States where we've lived
Magenta - States we have visited
White - States we haven't visited (mom hasn't been to Alaska or Arkansas)
Green - States where I have worked and both mom and I have visited
Looking at this we both want to visit every State in the United States. I think I might be able to accomplish this by scheduling my work so that we can drive to locations rather than flying there. That might mean that we'll be dropping by to stay a few days while we're traveling. Hope you'll have room!

I obviously worked in the States where we lived.
It is hard to believe you haven't been to Oklahoma. It isn't the most fascinating place to visit but the OK City memorial is worth seeing. Crystal and the kids have stopped to visit when we moved across the country.
Western Oklahoma was really pretty to me. Very desolate with endless rolling hills. I wouldn't want to live there but it was interesting to drive through.
I have to wonder if we are a 'normal' family. I have been in 35 states so far in my life with most of the missing states being in the NE. Are we just travelers or do all americans move around this much?
I've been fortunate to see most of the country and several places in Europe. But in reality mom and I haven't taken time to see things like we should ... I hope we can rectify that in the next few years.
Time will tell.
I think that we are definitely travelers! ... and adventurers. Both of our parents love to be out in nature. Mom loves history and we all grew up learning about culture through her relief society lessons about the world. She also loves to learn everything about everywhere and everything dad loves to tell stories about it all. Dad also has a personality which knows that if you decide to do something and put your mind to it, you can accomplish it. I think that you put those genetics together and you get a bunch of kids who love to learn about and experience the world and who know that they can do whatever they dream of ... and who like to share their stories (so it is good that we have this blog!)
Kristi has it down perfectly.
Dad - how did you do this? I want to do it too .... I'm the least well traveled of all of us, but i have every intention of catching up over the coming years.
I think we have as many states just traveling as kids (some of us more then others), then a lot of other adults have. I agree with Kristy's thoughts, its something our parents have ingrained in us.
Kris, true or not, I love your thoughts. Deb, I'll send you the same templet that Dan sent me. Mom and I do love to travel. Thinking back to the first time I went to Baltimore I was seated at a table with 5 other men and we got talking about skiing and when I said we'd drive over a hundred miles to Sun Valley to go skiing they were quite taken back saying they would never go that far to do anything. I guess we are all gypsies of sort ... When I talk about Kris I call her our little Gypsy and then look at where the rest of you have lived or are living; all over the country. Home is where the heart is but I sense that mom is tiring of traveling between Utah and Arizona. So someday maybe we'll just live in one place; the Oregon or Washington Coast :-).
