Breck & Charlie gave Mom, Grandma and I tickets to the Lion King in Hollywood for a Christmas present while they were living in Long Beach (and also invited Aunt Kathy). The play was about as good as anything I've ever seen. The picture above shows us visiting Catalina Island. What great fun we had all the time we were there. If you haven't been to Catalina Island you need to add it to your list of things to do. I know this is old news but it's Christmas time and we didn't have the Blog then so I post it now as a reminder of a great time and enjoyable trip.
Thanks again Charlie and Break!
We love you,
Dad

I have been to Catalina before. We saw dolphins coming over on the boat, took a very fun and steep bike ride around the island, and walked around the very cool botanical gardens.
Charlie and Breck - you guys give good gifts. I can't wait for you to have my name again :-)
I've been to San Diego - wonderful place, but I was too busy working for us to make it out to Catalina Island. We did see the city and enjoyed the food. Someday I'll have to make it back out and TAKE the time to get out to the island.
You might be thinking Coronado (or you might not be) ... but Coronado is an island (really a peninsula)across from San Diego. Catalina is not super far geographically but it is 1 1/2- 2 hours up the coast to get on the boat.
Speaking of Coronado ... when I lived in San Diego I was atop Point Loma (which overlooks Coronado) trying to have a cell phone conversation and my signal kept knocking out. I postulated that the Navy must have some super secret something that was knocking out my signal ... only to find out just recently that the technology is fairly accessible and often restaurants have it to keep their customers in line.
I LOVED that shirt!
Dave & Lana are staying at my house this week. Sunday night, Dave got on the blog and I did see the pictures of Catalina, that was so much fun when you lived here in Long Beach. Now I haven't anyone. Amy deserted me. I will be OK. I have been doing a lot of photography these past few weeks.
Two weddings, two family Christmas photos, and the Youth had a Talent night, and of course I took pictures there as well.
I do love photography.
Love you, Auntie
