Noise Canceling .... (what)

I recently purchased a pair of noise canceling headphones. I bought them because I was sick of not being able to watch a movie on a plane, or listen to my music etc. I had my first chance to try them out this week when I flew to Miami for business. The headphones were nice as I was waiting for my plane and listening to music but I couldn't beleive the difference on the plane. I had to turn the volume on my laptop way down because the movie came through so clearly. After a few days in Miami I flew back home. Once again I listened to the headset enroute. What really amazed me though was the way I felt once I got of the plane. Until I had tried these noise cancelling headphones I always got off a plane tired and cranky. After this trip I felt no worse than I would have after an hour car ride. I didn't get the top of the line headset from Bose. They want crazy money for those. The pair I bought at Target was worth every penny though!!

I have a pair best $39.99 I ever spent. When I used to fly for work all the time they where great. It also helps the person sitting next to you to know that you want to work, and not talk. I am not sure why I still do not use them when I drive in the car with the kids.

Have you tried them in the car with the kids? Maybe with a little Itunes under there? I guess I should get me a pair, I wonder how long they last.

They wouldn't last long if Dan tried to wear them in the car with me and the kids! Dan is WAY too smart for that!

I've been shopping for headphones. I heard bose were the best, but $300 is way out of my price range. What brand did you get?

I got the Sony Brand. They were $50 at Target. I posted a review of them at CNET.com. The bose are the best in the business but they are a TON of money.

Dan/Dave,
Are your over ear or on-ear?

your's I mean.

Mine are ON ear. Sony sales over the ear but not where I was shopping.

Aren't you supposed to talk to your kids in the car? And have a good time singing with them? However, I think your Dad used a reversed form of noise canceling--it was called "static radio"! :-)
