I cant see David pushing his younger brothers and sisters out of a chair...not the David of 2008, the David of the 60's, 70's and early 80's just might have. I am glad that he grew out of that, he is a great big brother to have around now. He was a good big brother most of early years, but there were a few times that I was not sure that I would make it through my childhood alive, PONG on Dave. Oh the days of being the tallest kids....those days are long over now!! These old pictures are a lot of fun, I assume there are many more to come.
Dad, do you have plans to do grandpas as well? It might take several years to do all his.
Actually, Dad told David to make sure his little sister didn't fall out of the chair. Can't you see the concern on his face? Beautiful, beautiful babies. You sure attracted attention wherever we took you. The second picture is proof that you really liked each other!
i STILL think you were about to push me out of the chair, but i do think Dad was telling you not to. I know i gave you a few bumps and bruises (remember that incident with the corelle bowl?) over the years ... i'll go with Nietzsche - what does not kill us makes us stronger :-)
Mom - you are so right. We are cute. My kid's friends are afraid to come over because I show them the "childhood" slide show and all the way through I'm saying, "oh look that is my brother, isn't he cute?" "look at those chubby red cheeks!" "my sister is NEVER standing still in the picture - isn't she adorable?" .... and you and dad are so goodlooking it's no wonder at all. i have plans to print and frame several of these pics - i love the one of you and i giggling in the bed when i am so tiny. WE are soooo cute!
That would be fun to scan Grandpa's pictures Mike. I'm not sure I'll do that, but I do plan to scan the grandkids pictures that I have taken over the years. Stay tuned!
I am happy that everyone enjoys seeing all the old memories. We do too!
Mike's comment is spot-on about David... I can't imagine a better big brother than Dave... (Mike is coming up fast for not burning a gasket when his snowmobile went kaput recently with me at the helm). It's sad, but I remember the one time Dog threw me off the bunk bed in his room more than (probably) a bunch of other times he kept us all from falling out of our chairs. Being the oldest must have been pretty tiresome.
How did Dave turn out so well? I think it must have been all those home perms in the 80's. They burned the mean right out of him!
Tee he.3
Thanks for being such a great guy and great big bro dave. Love ya! C
I remember a time when I was driving from Pocatello to UT to look at a house that Dad wanted to buy, in Roy. I had three little kids under 4--Michael was a new baby. Dad had been working in Butte for several months and then they decided to transfer him to UT to run Spectrglaze. Michael was fussy and needed his bottle and you know I couldn't prop bottles in any of my babies' mouths. Little David stood up in his backseat harness and fed Michael his bottle (Michael was in a car bed). I could look in the rearview mirror and see David's head nod off imself. He would jerk awake and keep holding the bottle for his baby brother. He kept doing that until Michael was full. Ask Dad how hard it is to be the big brother. I think you're blessed to have David--actually you're all blessed to have each So be nice or I'll start telling stories on the rest of you!

I am glad that Mom cleared that up. It looked like I was about to send Debbie to the ground.

Sorry, that last comment I made sounded grumpy. There is a fine line between trying to be funny and grouchiness. I think I missed it!
It didn't sound grumpy to me.
