A friend of mine designs web pages for bellsouth. Part of his job involves photoshopping images for his site. He grabbed a picture I took from the top of Signal Mountain at Sunrise and turned it into a watercolor. I actually keep an unedited copy of this picture on my desk at work but I really like the watercolor effect as well. I still giggle at the fact that there is now a cell phone tower on top of signal mountain. The morning I took this picture I also saw a black bear. Only the fourth time I have ever seen a bear. I much prefer seeing bears from the car than walking by them on the trail like I did with David and Michael.
Here is the original picture to compare against:

You should post the other one so that we can see the differences between normal and watercolor.
I like the effect, is that something anyone can do? I would do that and put it on my wall. Could you send me a large file that I could put on my desktop?
You have to have photoshop. I can send you a file that you can use.
I with you Dan. Walking by Bears in the middle of a switchback is a bit of a gut check.
Dan, you're an amazing photographer--and a bear now and then just adds a little excitement--at least it wasn't a grizzly!
I can't tell the difference between the photo and the water color ... you must have to see it in person. I agree with mom you are a talented photag!
