Dad and Brent

Dad is in AZ taking care of business and taking care of Brent. Brent isn't doing well--he needs more care than an assisted living home can provide for him. His stubbornness has kicked in to the nth degree and he won't cooperate with anyone. I think Dad is going to have to find another place for him. Some good news, Kelly has decided not to live in OR and will come back to the cabin next summer. He wants to be closer to Grandma so he can help her. Dad finished his year as president of AZ Masonry Guild last night with the annual auction and banquet. I haven't been there to support him in the last few activities and I feel bad (and guilty) about that. I finished my physical therapy yesterday--yeah--now I have to do it at home for the next six months three times a week to strengthen the tendon and give collagen a good chance to rebuild. After our trip to MD I'm going to go back to AZ and maybe I can be a better support to Dad. He really loves his little brother and it is hard to see him struggle and decline. I love this blog and I love all of you. Mom

I love you mom ... I thought being a grown-up (at 18) was tough. Ha! It gets a lot tougher before it's over. Dad is an amazing father, son and brother. I know this is a lot of stress for him, but can't imagine the dad i know being anything less than loyal to his little brother. You are his equal in goodness and support. I'm glad to know you will soon be parolled from PT so that you can travel again. One thing you should know for sure - you have the love and support of each of your children. Thank you for letting us know what is going on so that we can be the sort of folks you and dad have taught us to be :-)

I hope things work out for the best. If anyone can make it work Dad can!

FYI Brent is moving to a new wing of the same place so he can get a lot more personal care. He has some good days, even some great hours but to often he is still struggling. You can send your cards and letters to him at the address previously listed. Thanks honey for your kind words! Mom and I can't wait to see all our loved ones in Maryland ... we hope to be guided around by BIG Joe. We're also excited to see the sights of Maine.
Love to all,
Dad

I'm glad to hear that you were able to find a solution! I hope things go well.

When you are in Maryland sit on the front steps and have Joe show you his skateboarding tricks and sit up on the roof top deck and have Naddie Bo wink at you =)

I know this must be terribly difficult time. Thanks for sharing this mom and dad.

Oh Naddie BO! My winking Friend. When you stay in E's Room he winks at you all night.
