Mom & I took a trip up to Silver Lake today. It was absolutly beautiful. The bull moose was not there today but we saw a little rodent munching on the leaves and did a lot of bird watching. We watched a duck for quite a while as it hunted something off of the lake bed. We also stood still in hopes of catching a closer glimpse of a magnificent bird called a Stellar's Jay. The grasses swaying in the wind were wonderful and the changing colors of the grasses made the motion even more beautiful. We also discovered a new wild flower called a Monk's hood. It is the purple one in the picture above. Mom is doing well & I am having a lot of fun being with her.

Looks like fun. Good pictures in a great spot. Mom looks like she is doing well. Thanks for taking care of her for us.
They invited me but I wouldn't go ... now I see the pictures I feel bad. Mom was hurting this day but she was a real sport.
