Shelby is away on a handcart trek this week. They are on the Washington Oregon border. In 3 days they will move their handcarts about 20 miles and camp along the way. They are dressed in pioneer dress and can not have modern conveniences. Here is the link in case we want to do it for a family Reunion.

this one of those things where the parents are pulled around by the kids right?
Way to go Shelby! I'm sure you'll remember this the rest of your life.
I did this when I was a young un and then participated when I was an Adult. It is pretty amazing what our ancestors did moving to the west. I'm sure this will be a great experience for her
Mom and I were on one of the treks Dan speaks about having done ... whe had a great time albeit we didn't get much sleep because the Deacons and Beehives kept us up all night. I think Kristi was one of the Beehives.
Loving the retro clothes Shelby! You look clean and happy... I hope the after photos will include at least one of those conditions.
Every once in a while I see people here in Utah dressed like that at the grocery store. In the winter they're buying vegetables, but in July its fireworks.
I had a ton of fun. there was no after pictures because i got in at ten o clock at night, however, i was extremly happy, but horibly dirty. Beehives and decons wernt allowed to go. On the morning of our last day our trail boss informed us that we were the first ones to go on the trail we went on for the trek and that within our stake it was the hardest, hotest, and most aried trek anyone has gone on. The hotest day was 95, but the avg. for the area was about 110 for this time of year, so we got lucky, and uncle michael, no parents were pulled by us kids, only athesma and heat stroke warrented a ride.
Shelby,
Great to read that you had a good time and I would guess learned a lot about pioneer life. I don't have to see the after pictures to know how dirty you get on one of these treks.
Glad you're home safe and sound,
Grandpa
