Night Blooming Cactus

If you want to see this cactus bloom you need to see it at night because that's the only time it shows it's spectacular flowers. As most of you will recognize this is the cactus just outside our front door in Arizona. We've often seen the spent blossoms but until last night we've never seen them in full bloom; they are beautiful!

From the close-up you can see how massive the bloom is and from the picture below you see that there are more blossoms coming.

Like most everything in AZ, this little cactus knows in the summer its only fun to hang out at night.

Thanks for sharing! I saw that getting ready to bloom while I was there. I'm glad that I got to see it in picture.

very cool. I was surprised how many of the cactus bloom in June. Don't they know June is the time to head north?

Seems like all the big blooms come in June ... this bloom is almost as big as the Saguaro's. I just counted the pending blooms (6) and one that's just sprouting. Stay tuned
