My Mountain My Mountain

Today was a beautiful sunny day (dreary winters my foot) and the mountain was out. As pretty as the mountain is all the time in the winter it is truly something to behold. In my unofficial rain guage we have received about four inches in the last two weeks. I'm not sure what the conversion for rain to snow is but the mountain has turned pure white. The few sunny afternoons we have had here provided amazing views. The sun hit the moutain at an angle that highlights the ridges and makes it even more beautiful. Crystal and I went out for an evening drive to see it and ended up in a neighborhood that was started but is on hold for better economic times. This provided unobstructed views of the mountain. Crystal even climbed on top of a 10 foot tall boulder to enjoy the view. (how many 8 month pregnant women can do that!!)
I'm sure there is a time coming where it rains for 10 days straight but so far we have had a pleasant and beautiful november. I hope the weather is nice when our company comes next week for turkey day!

I would love to go to the top but there are some rules involved. This one makes the grand look tame.
1) I have to get into excellent shape. (I'm not right now!)
2) have to hire a guide service like we did with the grand. If the grand almost snuffed us on the first try then this would get us for sure.
3) Mike has to carry his own pack this time. No more faking altitude sickness above 10,000 feet.

What a great sight you guys have even if it only comes in to view occasionally. I can see why so many people what to live in the Seattle area.

I know that I need to lose a few lbs before I start anything...and I will carry my pack as long as I don't have to carry the trial mix or that heavy rope.....I did carry more then my packs weight on the way down if you remember correctly.

4) Have a helicopter that lowers me down to the top and then lifts me back up ... and (since I am in imaginary land)then takes me on a tour of all of the other Cascade volcanoes =)

I know! I was a little worried when I heard that Mike had to carry his own pack up because I was certain that meant that I would have to carry my own pack down! =)

You all can have a awhile to get fit while this baby grows big enough to be left home and I will come with you. As long as I don't have to climb behind David! :)
