Happy Halloween

Here is a look at the kids costumes on Halloween.

We had a great time.  Crystal invented Chas' costume and he loved it.  The girls dresses are authentic Chinese dresses on loan from Stacey.  This year the kids did a first and went out on their own in our neighborhood.  They were a little shocked when we sent them out on their own.

The funniest moment of the night is when the kids came back to our house.  By this point they had pooled together with several other kids in the neighborhood.  When they came to our door to trick or treat us the kids gave me the Hot Tamales that our neighbors had given out and I gave them some candy.  My kids know I love hot tamales and they don't care for them.  The other neighbor kids proceeded to give me their hot tamales in exchange for candy.  I'm still not sure if they didn't like hot tamales or if they thought they had to make a trade to get something from me.

After the show was over the kids have a tradition of trading candy with each other so they all get what they want.  They stayed downstairs for an hour trading candy.  I'm glad they all get along so well.  (most of the time!!)

What a great post! Love the costumes - Stacy is great to let two cuties wear such beautiful dresses and I'll bet "little Michael" (Chas!) got lots of looks too. I'm impressed with your tradition of trading candy after the tricker-treating. What a great way to share! That must have come from Crystal because I don't think our kids ever did it. Not that they didn’t get along :-).

Dad/Grandpa

I can't actually claim the trade off, the kids came up with it a long time ago. I think they look forward to the trade as much as eating the candy. In fact, if they don't have time to trade that night they save all their candy until the big trade off day. The kids did look awesome and more importantly, they were happy!

Great costumes I like the trading candy idea. Our kids share their candy with us also but mostly because the don't hide it from us.

You kids look awesome! I wish I had been "help" in the candy trade! Did you girls know that Aunt Kristi wore a Chinese jacket for Halloween? Instead of a parasol she had green hair. She looked cute and weird at the same time!
