Catalina Island

I don't have any current news to share, so I thought I'd upload this from 2001...

Mom, Dad and Grandma came out to California to visit Breck and I when we lived there in Long Beach. Along with Auntie we went to Catalina Island. It was a beautiful day. Road a very fast ferry boat across the ocean and took a tram ride around the town. We visited the botanical garden and walked and walked and walked enjoying the sites. It was a lot of fun.

We also got to see the Lion King in Los Angeles while they were out...

The whole experience was one of the highlights of my life.

That was a great adventure and I'll never forget the Lion King. Thanks Charlie for bringing back the memory of a great trip and a wonderful time!

It looks like you had a lot of fun, we have looked at cruises that stopped there, but have never done that. After looking at the fun you had, I will have to include the trip over to the island either via the cruise or fast boat you road on.

The fast boat is fun! I think that it is a really fun island to visit. It is so interesting to see the difference in lifestyle from the greater LA area. There are of course all of the rich people who can come and go as they please ... but talking to the people who live there you really get the sense of island life and how distanced from resources you are living on an island. We rented bikes and rode around which was a ton of fun. We also went to the botanical garden which was very cool too.
