Last night we made Sugar Cookies for family night, or at least we tried! Crystal made the dough with care, rolled it out on the counter and the kids punched out shapes. We knew something wasn't right when we tried to get the cookies back off the counter and they were pretty sticky. The kids celebrated each time we got one off without mangling it. I was hopeless and Crystal had to do all the work. Several mangled sugar cookies later we got a cookie sheet full and threw them in the oven. 8 minutes later we knew something was wrong. The cookies had more melted than baked and mostly lost the shape they went in as. Emma took one look at them and said 'They're shapeless lumps!!'. Needless to say this is FUNNY and we all laughed. The kids iced the lumps and ate them anyway
I'm not a fan of the Sugar cookie but it has been a tradition in our family for several years now and we had fun doing it. Going forward this will be known as shapeless lump night.
I took a picture of the lumps (the cookies not the kids) and will post it later.

Sounds like fun =) ... I can't wait to see the pictures of the shapeless lumps =)
Did you figure out what was wrong?
Some plans never go quite as planned ... interestingly, the flops are often remembered longer than those that go well.
Keep baking,
Dad
The shapeless lumps can go right up there with dumped angel food cake!
