Funny Josh story:
When he was in high school, we were scheduled to have Direct TV (satellite) Installed. It snowed big time. Direct TV called and said, "Hey, we can't come and install your dish because there is snow on the roof." and Josh, being Josh, thought to himself (and without consulting either parent): if I get on the roof and shovel the snow off the roof then we can have Direct TV installed today.
All of Joshua's brothers and a few of their friends were sitting in the family room looking out the picture window at the snowy day. Intermittent shovel fulls of snow falling on the ground. All of the sudden they hear a loud yelp and the next thing they see is Josh flying off the roof and landing on mom's enormous flower pots. Result was a broken ankle, no Direct TV installation (they were not dumb enough to get on a snowy roof), a endless ribbing from his brothers and friends, and no sympathy from either parent.
We are having fits of laughter about this today because (and I'm not making this up), Direct TV is scheduled to install a DVR in the basement this afternoon. We are going to send Josh a picture on motomail of Nate standing in the snow and say:
"Dear Josh:
We know you are very busy in Iraq, however today we are scheduled to have Direct TV installed today and wondered if you could come home and shovel the roof so the installation will not be delayed."
We suspect that this will cause our good natured, one-of-a-kind Joshua to be Rolling On the Floor Laughing ...

Oh .. PS Joe is snowed "out" at his friends house .. he had a sleepover last night in anticipation of no school today. Just wanted you to know why he was not in the picture.
It could have been that there were no green eggs at his friends house!!
What house did Josh jump off of?
Glad to see you getting your fair share of snow. Beware of any cats in hats that offer to help with the snow or the dish. The green eggs and ham look yummy!
I always thought green eggs and ham were for St. Patrick's Day but I love that you make them for Dr. Seuss's birthday. He deserves a celebration!
those were the smallest pictures I have ever seen. Glad to see you guys are getting snow. We actually had nice weather on this side of the country today. I keep waiting for my garden to sprout! :)
My garden is sprouting!!!! I have crocus coming up. I wouldn't have noticed except that I went out and planed my onions, cauliflower, and broccoli! The crocus are about a fingernail tall. I can't wait!!!!
Not to mention your farm in the basement Kate. You should see it growing (i'm surprised there hasn't been a blog post about it yet).
This is a great post Deb! Made me laugh and smile. The best!
