new job for Deb

I have been offered a new position with Danya International (www.danya.com) as the Director of the Training and Technical Assistance Program within the Program Management and Evaluation Business Unit. This represents a solid step for me professionally - Danya is a solid company with a reputation for doing good things in marketing and communications in the public health arena. Customer Value Partners (CVP) was a tremendous place to work - the greatest benefit being the number of truly stellar colleagues that I had an opportunity to work with. In the end the Danya offer was too compelling to pass up.

On a lighter note - Joe, upon hearing that my interviews with the Danya President, COO, and Vice-president (whom I will report to) resulted in me being offered the job exclaimed, "REALLY? They picked YOU out off all the people?" The look on his face said it all .... "Why on earth would anyone think you're that smart, especially compared to everyone else?!" ... through the eyes of our twelve year old children we are reminded to be humble. Eliott just asked for a raise in his allowance.

congratulations Debby--I always knew you were smart--but then mothers are predujiced just like our kids--only the other way. Well, I know what I mean, even if I didn't say it well!

Great news. I am sure you will do well. Are you still working in the Baltimore area?

the job is in Silver Spring .. shorter commute, better work life balance were two important factors in my decison making.

Mom .. i love your comment. i think you're right. I'm down here visiting J3 and it seems like that "mother feeling" just get's multiplied by a 1,000 when it's a grandchild you're explaining .. no really - she is THAT smart, funny, beautiful, etc :-)

Cool! Right by Chevy Chase =) Are you in B'more or Montgomery Village? I lost track after Mississippi.

I'm in Montgomery County - we've rented the Baltimore house to a two (looking for a third) nice young folks (and a dog named Luke) .. they love it and the extra income pays Nate's tuition this year and Clay's after that ...

Silver Spring is between the two cities if you're going on the beltway.
