Happy little flower

I looked out the window and what did I see? Nope, not popcorn popping on the apricot tree, but almost as good.

The first crocus bloom of Spring.

You have to live in a place like the mountain west to appreciate a bloom as small as this. These little wonders always remind me of Mom and IdahoFalls where they would pop up through drifts of snow and make her (and you and me) happy.

I still appreciate the first bloom of spring even here in GA. The first blooms never last too long because a frost will usually come along and do them in, but with that bloom hope for spring arrives!

I love to see things poking out of the brown and white of the spring. I still have over a foot of snow covering my flowers. I would guess in a week it will be gone and I can see something coming around.

Charlie, thank you for the picture and the memories of spring in Idaho. There is nothing like that first bloom, with its promise of spring and rebirth of beauty and warmth.
