Cactus Hugger

If I were in the West this is totally a race that I would want to do!!! I thought that I would post it in case any of you in the West want to do it. One of my favorite rides ever was riding up into and back down out of Zion's canyon (except for that really scary part where I passed the wild turkeys! ... really!, it was scary than it sounds, they are HUGE ugly mean looking birds) and being anywhere in that red rock country is a spectacular experience!

I have never had an encounter with a angry wild turkey. Ask me about a Mama Moose though. I thought I was a goner. Speaking of moose, they like Michael so much they want to get in the car and drive with him!

I've never been able to get close enough to a wild turkey to be scared. On the other hand being face to face with a moose is quite another matter. When it happened I backed away very slowly and said this is your creek and I'll just let you stay standing in it. I WAS fishing in Cottonwood Creek near Jenny Lake and concentrating on the fly at the end of my line so completely that I hadn't realized, until the moose snorted, that I had walked within 10' - 15' of him ... I was pretty lucky I wasn't hurt. Still can hear the sound he made!

Screamin Pigs, Wild Turkeys and Angry Moose, OH MY!

I once read a book where the author called a moose peaceful. HA!

I think that I would rather come across wild turkey than a moose! Mom was telling me a story about a moose that was wandering around Spokane that they had to tranquilize and take back out to the wild! Better watch out David & Lana! there might be a moose hiding in your snow piles!
