Famous Photo

In case you can't read the small print. The Seattle Times Photo Production Specialist said of Dan's photo, "The excellent timing and composition of this shot caught my attention instantly. The photographer snapped his shutter as this kayaker met a mouth of rushing water and the diagonal lines of his paddle and boat lead our eyes into the moment that defines this thrill-seeker's experience."

So Dan has the number one picture in the Seattle Times this week and is in the running for picture of the year! You can check out the "other" 20 photos for the year with this link. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/photogalleries/traveloutdoors2008577619/
Go Dan!

No contest--Dan's photo is the best! We made a copy of it to send to Grandma.

That's pretty cool Dan. I loved your photo. It's cool that you were on the river, even better to see the kayakers come through. I stop every time I pass lunch-counter on the snake to watch the kayakers.
I agree with Mom and think your photo is great, but you've got some stiff competition there. It'll be pretty hard to win a photo contest against photos of cute kids and cute kids with cute puppies.

Great shot Dan! I am not sure if Puppies and Kids are as important as Kayaks in Seattle.

It is not nearly or cool or as impressive as my little sister getting her work published in professional journals.

I was still pretty excited that is was published in the paper. It was lucky timing to be in the right spot at the right time. It made me feel really good that they chose my work over other submissions!

Dan,
I would submit your pictures to a number of locations including all the airlines, white water mags, travel mags, etc.

there is actually a nice resourse book that has listings of thousands of places to submit photos and what format they want them in. I'll have to look up the name of it when I get home but I think that it is called something like photographer's market
