We have been telling the kids how pretty downtown Seattle is in the evening when viewed from the water. We were going to go back that way when we came back from spring break but the ferry schedule’s worked against us. On Friday night I had arranged to pick up some snowshoes (more on that later this week) that I had found on craigslist near where the ferry launches from. We decided to pony up $11.55 to take the boat ride rather than drive back. Here are some pictures and comments.
We left Bremerton at dusk. Very peaceful.
Chas has never seen Titanic so we thought this unposed picture was very funny.
It was coooold but the kids had fun out in the open air on the ferry. I was very sick so only came out to take the occasional picture.
This is what you see from the Ferry at night when you come in. To the left you see the space needle, dead ahead is downtown Seattle and to the right is the port of Seattle. In the background you can see Safeco Field as well. The thing that kills me is that most of the people riding the ferry are bored out of their minds. I guess riding the ferry eventually becomes as boring as riding the bus.

That looks REALLY COOL! I've been to Seattle several times (always cloudy and raining)I didn't realize the skyline was so pretty...
It really is the most beautiful way to see Seattle. I think I've road the boat 4 times now!
This post lets me remember the night we came into Seattle from Vancouver Island years ago ... what a fantastic sight it is; love it!
This is the same ferry ride we would have taken at the sib reunion. Next time you are up we can do this trip!
Years ago when Dad and I took the ferry from Canada to Seattle at night I thought it was one of the most beautiful sights I have seen. The Seattle skyline is truly beautiful.
Super cool! Now I'm mad too that we didn't get to ride it! =) ... Just kidding =) ... but hope to be able to do it someday!
