The Move Part 1

OK. We are started on our move. Getting out of town on friday night was zoo as we kept forgetting stuff and having to go back to the house. We finally left at about 9 PM. We are driving both cars and all the kids elected to ride with Crystal. Mom said it was because I was making them move and they didn't want to talk with me!

The best part of any road trip is of course staying in a hotel! The kids think that hotel breakfast is the best thing ever!

We stopped for lunch in Paducah Kentucky. The first time I ever drove through Paducah with Mom and Kristie we made fun of the name for about 30 minutes. I learned today that this is where the Ohio and Tennessee rivers meet.

Chas had lots of fun with his root beer at lunch.

This is the view from where I was sitting. We have short range radios so we are able to talk back and forth. We even have our own CB Names. I'm Moose Caboose and Crystal is Queen.
The kids all picked sea world names. Katie is Baluga1, Emma is Shamu12 and Chas is Dolphin13.We finished up in St. Louis today. The kids really enjoyed the arch. I thought it was absolute pandemonium. The top of the arch was crowded and very noisey. I asked the kids if they enjoyed the arch, they said YES, I said 'good, because I'm never taking you again!'. We actually went up at sunset and also saw a beautiful moonrise.
As I laid on the ground to take this picture we had lots of people watching me take the picture.

Since you are moving, it's a good idea to make the most of it and see the sights along the way. I agree with you, as spectacular as the Arch is, once is enough. The moonrise must have been incredible. Have a wonderful time in Nauvoo. Keep safe and keep sharing!

I'm so glad you coming this way! I can't believe you took time to post, but so glad you did. I love the picture by the arch. It was worth having people stare at you while you laid on the ground.

Ooops....forgot a word...how embarrassing. ARE...I'm so glad you ARE coming this way. And "laid" is probably really spelled "layed" right? I honestly don't know. That's embarrassing too.

As you read this post you'll be in Nauvoo ... I expect the visit there will be one you, Crystal and the kids will long remember. Drive safe, have fun and we love you!

Wow. now i totally feel guilty for not posting more often. If y'all can post while moving 3 1/2 kids accross the country i guess i can do better even if i live in two different cities.

Stacey,
I haven't been able to spell since I went on my mission. Learing a foreign language totally messed me up.

It looks like you have had a good first day....I have not had anyone moving with me in 15 years. It is a lot faster but not a lot of fun... I did the convoy thing once with grandma and grandpa driving bump from the cabin following grandpa. It was a slow go. Look forward to more posts, drive safe.

PS spell checks are worth its weight in gold, I just need a grammar/you idiot check to make sure all those properly spelled words are the words I thought I was typing!!
