Super Swimmers

One of the things we will really miss about Georgia is our wonderful pool, swim team and all the good friends we have made there. A big part of our summer is hanging out at the pool. When we moved to GA none of our kids knew how to swim. We signed them up for swim team. Swim team is different than swim lessons. The kids are taught how to race and everyone learns how to swim and race by the end of the season. Even at four years old!!! The first year only katie was old enough to swim. She had to be bribed with a candy bar (by a coach) to swim her first race. The next year Emma joined the fun. She took right to swim team and was swimming like a champ in no time. Chas had to wait two more agonizing years but finally turned four and could be on the team. This is the third year they have all swum together. We love swim team because it gives our kids a good activity in the summer, keeps them in shape and they have a lot of fun! If is fun to cheer them on and watch them improve.
All three kids posted personal bests in their events last night. I couldn't be prouder of them.

Those GA Ward kids are like fish in the water. I see their swiming styles are ever improving. Thanks for sharing.

I love watching those cuties swim! I think I will probably cry buckets at their last meet in July. It feels like this is something we just cannot replace. Boo Hoo. Hopefully they will teach their new sibling how to butterfly, because I certainly can't!

The butterfly is a great stoke for WA, it will keep you nice and warm in the cool waters of the Pacific. They do look like they have fun.
