A visit to Baltimore

Business took me north of the Mason Dixon line this week. The difference between Virginia and Maryland is funny to me. The states are so close together but there is no doubt that Maryland is a Yankee state. I haven't heard any soft southern drawls up here.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to Deb's house. I have never been inside a rowhouse before and wondered what it would be like to live in one. She has a beautiful home and a fun view from the roof! The house has a lot of stairs so it pays to be in good shape when you make a visit! We sat down to a great dinner of Scallops and real Idaho baked potatoes. Growing up in the middle of potato land made me take them for granted but I love it when I can get one now. It was fun to visit with Deb and see where she is at now.

I am looking forward to my first visit to Debs house. I hope its before next summer, but I know for sure that we will see it then. I think stairs are good for keeping in shape, I am sure that I would be ten pounds lighter if I had some at my house that I would be forced to go up and down.

Great post Dan. I agree with all you said... I'll be out in June to (hopefully) have some more of Deb's great cooking.

Grandma Margie is planning a visit as soon as she gets her free pass from Southwest. She's very careful at home, but as long as there is a hand rail she'll climb further than most of us. I can't wait to hear from Deb how she does on those stairs.

It is amazing how different Virginia and Maryland are. Who would think that a little thing like the Potomac could make such a difference!

It was fun for Dad and I to see what a Baltimore row house is like on the inside. Dad has never stopped talking about Debby's pretty stained glass door she made. Because of Dad's early business in Baltimore we were introduced to the tasty world of oysters on the half shell--yummy!

I agree Dan; Deb has a very attractive house and she has made it a warm welcome home! Sounds like you're traveling all over the place ... hope you are enjoying the travel.
