I am out in California this week for work. This is the second time I have been to California and I had forgotten how beautiful it can be here. The first time I visited I was in wine country up north and the golden rolling hills amazed and awed me. This time I am in the LA area. I had dinner last night with Auntie Kathy which was of course a blast! I never realized the size of the mountains in and around Los Angeles. I'm not right in the city so I don't know what the view is like there, but the picture I took are right outside my hotel door. It was quite a sight to wake up to. Those mtns must rise 3500 feet off the valley floor. I'm a sucker for a good mountain so I thougt I would share with you.
After work and before dinner I went out for a hike in the hills around our plant. It was just a twilight and I got a nice picture of the sunset. (After I got the picture I ran to my car because I was a little bit nervous with all the gang related grafitti I could see.) Ever since I was a kid in Idaho Falls sunsets have mesmerized me. The other nights I was here the sunsets were even better but I couldn't take a picture driving down the freeway!

CA is a great place, I am sure that is why all those people live there. I like to visit, it is a lot of fun to go and do things that you cant do at home.
Are you in Ontario? I was there once and there was snow on the tops of the peaks and I thought it was a beautiful place. I'm with Michael about all the people. CA is my worst having-to-move-to place. And those sunsets in Idaho Falls were the best in the world. Little Kristi always called them "sunset shows."
I was staying in Ontario and working about 10 miles further west in Riverside. Michael got it spot on. Great place to visit, not sure why you would want to live there!
Oh, I think I would live there if I could have what Aunt Kathy had a few years ago, a commute that did not require entering a freeway. I think the thing that bothers me more then anything down there is the freeways. When you leave for work, you never know if its going to be a 45 minute commute or a 2 hour commute.
I really like California ... I think that if I had the do re mi I would live there.
