Summer Staycation ...

Think high gas (and everything else) prices can spoil Ward-Anderson fun? Ha! Think again. This year we had a great "Staycation" and in spite what the kids tell you, I did not say 1,000 times: "Millions of kids and their parents pay thousands of dollars (EACH!) to come to the Washington DC area for summer vacation ... this IS a cool place."

Swimming in the MV pool with the girlfriends Anastasia and Miara.

Just after the dolphin show at the Baltimore aquarium (we got really really really wet and it was really really really funtastic). Here we are hanging out with one of Clay's best friends - Vincent, his sister Gabrielle and a foreign exchange student - Marta.

One thing you can say for Staycations ... you get to bring your friends along!

Hear no evil. See no evil. Speak no evil.
uh hu.
Joe knows a set of monkey bars when he sees one.

Charlie and his friends spent part of their Vacation in DC so we joined in! Brandi's (Charlie's friend from Utah) body language says it all. Who pretends to be a frog at the Silver Spring Wayne Ave Garage and thinks it's fun? Charlie! That's who ... E and Joe follow suit.

Oh the things you see and the memories you make on Staycation ... just as soon as you realize it's not WHERE, but WHO. Lucky me to have such fine people to spend time with.

Reminds me a bit of the fun times we've had just staying around the house playing games, hicking, mixing cans for different foods together for a GREAT lunch and just having fun without spending much if any money.

Looks like a fun time. Anywhere you live there are always fun places to see and explore and often we look beyond the mark for more exotic places. I think our reunion last year was proof of what fun it is to see things close to home. We sure are having a fun visit with Joseph. Although I think we are boring him to death now that Jackson and the reunion are over.
